
ANIMALS PROTECTION ACT (NO. 71 OF 1962)
states that it is an offence to:
neglect, infuriate or maim an animal;
keep an animal in a dirty or parasitic condition;
fail to render or procure veterinary attention if necessary;
fail to destroy an animal if undergoing unnecessary suffering;
confine or tether any animal that causes suffering or in conditions
with inadequate shelter, light or ventilation or exposed to excess
heat, cold, sun, rain or dust or without adequate provision for food
or water;bait, provoke or incite any animal to attack any other or possess any
animal for the purpose of fighting.We try to ensure that owners understand this and we hope to be able to
enforce the existing laws and to get more and improved laws in place
